Conference Two

Affects, Intentions and Goals: A New Look At Motivation

Saturday November 19, 2011

Featured Speaker: Joseph D. Lichtenberg, MD Chair: Jane Jones, Ph.D., MSW

This day centers on Dr. Lichtenberg's groundbreaking theory, which integrates developmental and clinical findings to expand clinicians' empathic appreciation of their patients' inner world. He has also developed therapeutic guidelines for the exploratory psychotherapies involving creativity and the spirit of inquiry. In today's presentation, Dr. Lichtenberg will build on his earlier work to include a portrayal of mental processing involving systems theory and further expand his understanding of human motivation. He will integrate these ideas into clinical proposals that enrich clinical interaction and facilitate the process of change.
